Saturday Snapshot

Last year I took this picture of the Robin in winter, right outside my house, while standing in my driveway.
This year?  We have no snow....we've  had no snow.   It's as dry as a bone.  And it's warm  (for winter) during the day  and people are being advised to water their trees--which is really weird, because IT'S WINTER. We don't water our trees or grass during winter!  Mother nature is supposed to take care of that for us.
It's supposed to look like this picture.  It's supposed to be cold and snowy outside, or at the very least, rainy.
It feels really odd to me....I don't like it.   Of course it's nice to travel in and heating bills are down, and there is no mess or tangle of boots by your entry way....but this spring and summer when I want green in my backyard?  When I want to water my flowers and plants?  I don't know that it will be--- that I will be able to have lucious greenery.... because I hear that terrible phrase being uttered every once in a while:  water rations.  Ugh.

I am linking this to At Home With  Books, where Alyce hosts  "Saturday Snapshot".
Stop by and check it out.

I love the robin in the snow picture. I wish I could give you some of our precipitation. We haven't had much snow, but our rainfall for last year was way up, which means my basement was wet! Here's Mine

The snow picture is lovely. It seems that snow is hard to find practically anywhere. I'm just glad that we have having a bit of moisture this winter in Texas. Last summer was awful and they say that this one will be a repeat. And, yes, we did have water restrictions - as in no water whatsoever spilled outside. I hope that you guys will get some rain/snow/whatnot so that your spring/summer will be green as can be.

It's been warm here, too, but that's not all that unusual for us. Our son in Virginia has already had snow a few times this year. The weather seems to be very strange.

It's the same deal here! I posted a wintery picture from a few years ago because this year? No snow. It looks like a lovely spring day out there. I love your composition with the red robin and the red stop sign. Pretty.

We have no snow either, but it has rained, not good thing this climate change for our trees. Love your robin.

I just read your post about Woolworth Cheesecake. I remember that! And you are right it was a more intimate setting. My best friends mom worked in the bake shop and decorated wedding cakes. I can't imagine going to Walmart and getting a wedding cake. Love your story, and the menu. My friends and I often dined at Woolworth before our shopping adventures. Thanks for the memories.

Wow, that sounds serious! It's a beautiful snow shot from last year though! I hope you get some precipitation soon!

That's a beautiful picture!

We've got some snow right now, but there hasn't been much of it.

Such a lovely winter scene.

Our weather has been all over the place too. I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster...going down, then back up!

Debbie, what a lovely shot. The robin must have been wondering "what the heck was going on"?

We had that freak snowstorm on October 29th here and a super mild winter ever since -- just weird.

I love the contrast of the robin and the stop sign.

That's a great photo. I love the contrast of the robin against the snow. It's been up and down with temperature here. We have had lows in the 20s then today's high was 72. Crazy.

Nice pic! I like the robin, but I also like the red stop sign in the snow too. Hope you get some snow soon. We were at 76 today. Odd for this time of year even down here.

Lovely snowy picture. I'm sure it must be strange without snow for your winter.

Lovely photo.

We have not had our little sprinkling of snow either this winter.
I do think we will get some before April

Happy New Year to you.

We never have snow here in Houston. My kids have seen it only a couple of times. Thin snow to boot. It is 80F here today. We get hold/cold weather until spring.

I feel your pain ... no snow in New England either and the poor folks running ski areas are going deep into hock using the snowmaking equipment ... it stinks.

We're having the same issue here...I'm ready for a good storm, preferably when everyone is at home and no one has to go anywhere.
