Just a quick little post from me....
...which is frankly too bad, because I just got back from a convention where one of the seminar's was "Social networking" which covered, blogging, texting, twitter, facebook, MySpace among many many others that were never touched on.
I learned a blog post is not just an messy e-mail to a friend. Of course they were talking about "business" blogs and how they should be professional, because sometimes, I feel as if I can write a messy e-mail/blog to you fellow foodies. We are comrades in arms, aren't we? There is a comfort level between us, is there not? LOL
Before I go any further, I want to mention that I am concerned, our whole family is concerned, about my daughter-in-law. She is 27 weeks pregnant with twins and began having contractions last night. She is in the hospital now, and they have given her some medication for to stop the contractions, plus other medications for her and the babies.
They are back east in Connecticut....silly kids thought they needed an Ivy League education....and their whole ENTIRE family is out west, so they are all alone and tho they don't say it, they are scared.
So, my mind is with them...I can't concentrate, so no food post today. I would appreciate any prayers and good thoughts tho.
So....as far as my road trip.... and the only food posting I can do for now.... we stopped at nice little bakery/cafe and started our day yesterday (the last day) with a quiche. A veggie quiche in fact. Trying to not eat so much meat. It was a lovely little hometown cafe, they had a larger lunch menu...didn't serve a full-breakfast, but the bakery? OH...MY....GOSH... what wonders. But did I get a picture of the pastries and baked goods? NO.
I confess tho, that we did eat our quiches and then we bought pastries to take with us. We can only be "so" good, you know.
Here's the quiche, (it was really tasty) and the City Cafe Bakery (which was very nice) in Carson City, NV. (our state capitol, btw. Just trivial pursuit info for you to tuck away)

I will pray for your little grandbabies. The longer they can stay in there the better! That is so scary to be having contractions so soon.
I'll be praying every day for the next 10 weeks. It must be hard for you to be so far from them. Peace to you and yours :)
Oh my heart is with you. When my daughter called and said her water had broken I knew with a six hour drive ahead of me I would never make it in time. And her hubby was deployed to Iraq that was a long six hour drive just be safe. God be with you and your family.
Will say prayers for your family and the babies. The longer they stay in Mom, the better.
Thinking good thoughts for your DIL. I'd be scared too!
I'll be praying for your daughter in law and the babies. This is scary, but prayer works!
