Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is hosted each week by

This week's question is:

Have you ever ventured out of your comfort zone in terms of reading a genre you have never read? If so, did you get hooked on that new genre?

My answer:
Well....let me tell you....I read pretty much everything.
But if I had to choose, Sci-Fi and Fantasy are my most least read, but when I do read them I LOVE the stories.  They're just not my 'go to' kind of book.

Right now my guilty pleasure are Romance Novels.
I hadn't read them for 25 years, but  lately .... there have been a lot of them.
They're fun, fast and really good.

My book club stretches me a lot because everyone else loves historical fiction. I have to admit that I generally don't love it.

The three genres you've mentioned are among my favorites. In the romance genre, I especially love paranormals and historicals. As for SF, I haven't been reading much of that lately, and need to get back to it. There are some AWESOME writers in this genre!

Thanks for sharing! Hope you have a GREAT weekend!! :)

I'm similar about SciFi. They're definitely not a genre I usually reach for but I've found that the few that I've read I've loved. I'd like to make an effort to step outside my comfort zone a little more - especially with genres like SciFi and fantasy.

I don't think I've really read Sci-Fi; is that that dystopian kind of genre? Nonfiction used to be my out-of-comfort-zone genre, but now I read food memoirs at least once in a while. What's out of comfort for me is those books that make you think like Me Before You.

Sci-Fi and Fantasy are two genres I do not read. Never could get into them.

Also...it is a no go with paranormal either.

I usually stay right where I am. :)

ENJOY your weekend.

Happy Hopping!!

I have tried many new ones and not always to success. But I do know to stay away from ones that I didn't connect with.

I've come back to reading romance after years away too! It's funny how that's worked out. I love fantasy. I don't read high fantasy as much as I used to, which is a real shame because I really do enjoy it.
